Brentwood: scarce by design
Brentwood families are usually surprised by this number: the entire 90049 zip holds exactly 2 licensed senior care facilities, one larger community and one six-bed home, about 90 beds total. Residential zoning and land values keep it that way. So a "Brentwood search" is really a fifteen-minute-radius search, and the families who know that from day one tour better options sooner.
Counts computed from California Department of Social Services licensing data, June 2026; refreshed quarterly. We don't list facility names; a current, inspection-checked short list is what the free conversation is for.
The real map for Brentwood families
- Westwood, ten minutes east: the UCLA-adjacent large communities and the area's real capacity (about 489 beds). Details in the Westwood guide.
- Santa Monica, ten minutes west: 15 licensed facilities across both kinds, coastal premium applies. The Santa Monica guide has the numbers.
- Mar Vista and Palms, fifteen minutes south: the Westside's small-home hubs, where hands-on care runs $3,500 to $5,500 all-inclusive. Start with the board-and-care guide if a six-bed home might fit.
What to expect on price
In and around Brentwood, plan for the top of the Westside band: roughly $6,500 to $12,000+ a month at larger communities depending on care level and apartment, and $4,500 to $6,500 at nearby small homes. The cost guide breaks down what's actually in the bill, including the care-level fees that grow after move-in.
One Brentwood-specific tip
Scarcity cuts both ways: the two in-zip options can carry waitlists, and waitlist position is free. If staying in the zip matters (a spouse at home nearby, a synagogue or church, a doctor), get on the list early even while touring the radius, and verify both facilities' records first at the CDSS Care Facility Search using our walkthrough.
