Marina del Rey and the Playas: two big buildings hold all the keys

The map here is simpler than families expect. Marina del Rey (90292): zero licensed senior care facilities. Playa del Rey (90293): zero. The area's entire licensed supply sits in Playa Vista (90094): two large communities holding about 388 beds, among the newer senior living construction on the Westside. So the search is really a fit question: do those two buildings suit your parent, or does the answer live ten minutes inland?

Counts computed from California Department of Social Services licensing data, June 2026; refreshed quarterly. We don't list facility names; a current, inspection-checked short list is what the free conversation is for.

What the area costs

Playa Vista's communities are newer large buildings; plan on roughly $6,000 to $10,000+ a month depending on care level and apartment, plus the care-level fees that grow with needs (the cost guide explains the bill). There are no licensed board-and-care homes in any of the three zips, so all-inclusive small-home pricing means looking inland.

The real decision for Marina and Playa families

  • If a large community fits (social parent, activity calendars, dining rooms, moderate care needs), Playa Vista's two buildings are the local answer, with Culver City's communities close behind.
  • If hands-on care or budget is the driver, the board-and-care hubs are right up the road: Mar Vista (5 small homes) and Palms (8 small homes), both about fifteen minutes away, at $3,500 to $5,500 all-inclusive.
  • Not sure which kind of setting? The decision guide settles it in five questions, before you tour anything.

Verify anything we ever tell you

Both Playa Vista communities, and any inland home you consider, have public state records: inspections, citations, complaint findings. Pull them at the CDSS Care Facility Search and read them with our walkthrough. Newer buildings have shorter records; that's normal, and the questions on our touring checklist do the work the record can't yet.
